In the fall of 2003, after 20+ years of building residential and commercial log and timber structures in the Park City and Summit County areas of Utah, Mountain Woodworks, Inc. relocated to the Black Hills of South Dakota. This was a return home for Kevin Malon, president of Mountain Woodworks, having grown up in Rapid City. Kevin's wife, Lisa, manages the office and assists with interior decorating for many of our clients.

Our project scope includes 2000 sq. ft. residential cabins to 20,000+ sq. ft. custom homes. We can also incorporate log work into commercial projects for large-scale lodges and office structures.

We are excited to announce the opening of our new log yard and office to be located on Quaal Road, off exit 48, (just north of Rapid City), in the fall of 2009.

Employment Opportunities

Log Crafter Needed:

Mountain Woodworks, Inc. is currently seeking experienced log crafters. Applicants must have tools and be able to scribe fit log notches and timbers.

Lead Carpenters:

Must have a minimum of three years experience working with log home construction company with knowledge of framing, finish, and log working skills.

Chinker:

Also needed, chinkers for ongoing projects. Must have experience and references; no on-job training.
